Ivory_Forest

5th July 2003 - Idsall School Shifnal

This is the story of a Rain Forest under threat from some nasty ranchers who want to cut down the trees so they can cook burgers. The animals who live in the forest, together with a young chap called Noah join forces and - thanks to a bad dose of tropical hay fever - manage to scare away the ranchers.

This was the first time a lot of the young cast had been on stage. They all worked hard to learn their lines and remember stage directions and, although at times we thought it might not happen, it WAS alright on the night!

We were also pleased to welcome Irene Parrish from the British Heart Foundation who was there to receive a cheque for £300 - the proceeds from the Friday night’s performance of the older group's production which was dedicated to the memory of Phil Evans. Phil, a former member of Shifnal Drama Group, died recently from heart failure at a tragically young age. The cheque was presented by our President Eileen Shervey.
