Who are Stagekids?
Stagekids was formed from Shifnal Junior Drama Group in November 2002. We felt it was time
the group had a New Image that portrays exactly what we
do - acting, singing and dancing.
Stagekids is divided into two groups - one for 6 to 11 year olds and one for 12 to 16 year
olds - and currently has around fifty enthusiastic members. We aim to stage about 3
productions a year. Some productions combine the talents of both groups, whereas others
are a special project for just one group.
What sort of things we do?
We try to choose a range of productions - musicals, plays - some serious, some
light-hearted. This way we can both show off the range of talents within the group and
let them try their hand at a variety of theatre skills. When we are not working towards
a specific production our meetings are 'workshop' based which gives us a chance to
practise and develop specific skills before the next 'show'. You can find out what we

Who's in charge?

Stagekids is run by Sandra Houston and Dawn Fletcher. Our Musical Directors are Nerys Jones
and Kieran Danby, and Choreography is done by Kathryn Danby.
We also have a President - Mrs Eileen Shervey - a stalwart member of Shifnal Drama Group
which ran for nearly 11 years until November 2002.
We are also very grateful to have a small but - very important - band of former Shifnal Drama Group members who are able to lend a hand at production time. |
